I just bought a 5th gen nano, and wanted to get affordable yet durable protection for it. The clear case I ordered is perfect! I've already dropped it twice, and instead of scratching the actual ipod, the case came to the rescue! I would much rather replace a case than the ipod! This case also has a hole for the camera lens that does not interfere with your video taking abilities. I would definitely recommend this case if you want quality protection for your ipod without spending a fortune!

Perfect 5th-gen nano protector Oct 13, 2009

I just got a 5th-gen nano, and I wanted to protect it. This case is perfect -- the fit is exact, covering everything except the controls (and the video camera lens), and it is completely clear, not "frosted clear" like some other nano clear covers, so the nano color (mine's orange) shows through just as brightly as if there were no cover at all. It's also extremely slim and light, so those features of the nano are not lost.

This purchase includes:
1. The case itself, which covers everything but the top, bottom, wheel, and camera lens, and has an attachment for a lanyard if you want
2. A small microfiber cloth
3. A stick-on screen protector
4. Bag for your iPod, although the bag is way bigger than necessary
I would recommend cleaning both your iPod and the case very well before you put the case on, because once you get it on, it's VERY difficult to get off. Another problem was the screen protector. It would've been great as additional protection if the sticker on it actually peeled off nicely. Instead, it left a sticky residue that made the screen protector useless, unless you don't mind white pieces of sticker in front of your screen.

I noticed that a lot of people were failing at their attempt of getting this off. I recently got one and loved it!! When I first put it on though I noticed that the screen of my iPod was smudged. I thought I would just take it off and clean the screen but I COULD NOT GET IT OFF! I finally figured it out. Take a normal paperclip. Jam it in between the two halves where the hold button is. You're going to want to do it on the left of the hold button. Then continue down the side of the iPod along the line with the paperclip. THIS WILL NOT SCRATCH YOUR IPOD! This should pop the first one open and it is easy to work from there. Good luck!!

Essentially this case boils down to a few pros and a single minuscule con.
Pros
1.Protection
It covers the device, keeps the scratches off it, and still leaves essential controls open. What you can't tell is that the screen is actually covered by the plastic which is great.
2.Looks
I got the clear and it looks great. Keeps the color safe and shows it off.
3.Functionality
It's tough to get off but there isn't a need to do so because the scroll-wheel is left open, hold switch is open, the camera isn't blocked by plastic and the docking port is open.
Con
1.Screen cover
It comes with a film screen protector. Great, but it sucks. Not that big of a deal though because there is plastic from the case on the screen.
So if you are looking for a case for your new iPod nano look no further than this. The product is cheap, excellent and the shipper is also great.
