Excellent product if you have multiple iPod products in your home. Even charges the 2nd Generation iPod Touch. This frees up the computer when you don't need to sync but just want to charge your iPod. Especially helpful when traveling and don't have access to a computer or when driving and need to charge.

I was heading on a trip and I needed a power supply for my 80 GB IPOD Video Apple 80 GB iPod AAC/MP3 Video Player Black (5.5 Generation).
This is a great system since I can plug in my IPOD into an outlet, and when I was driving, use the connection for the lighter jack in the rental car. The plug folds into the main housing which make it easier to pack. An LED indicator lets you know that your system is connected and ready to charge.
This is an economical and convenient method to travel with your IPOD so you don't have to run out of power.
Don't leave home without this.
I highly recommend this product.

However, it is Only a charger. You cannot use its usb cable to connect and sync your ipod/iphone to the computer. Unfortunately!! This is what I hoped it would do. Otherwise a great product.

The value for this set is very good; I got mine for under [...] bucks, and it comes with charging cables for both an iPod/iPhone and a iPod Shuffle, as well as both a wall-charger and a car-charger. This allows me to leave the chargers where I use them (car or home) and just carry the USB cable with me when I have one device or the other along. If you only have an iPod/iPhone and no Shuffle, you would probably want to forgo this package (though I haven't priced sets with wall/car chargers without the Shuffle cable -- they might be about the same price for all I know).
The wall charger has a low-profile design, though it's a bit wide (about the same width as a normal charger brick but not as heavy).
I give this set 4/5 stars only because my iPhone says it's not a supported charging cable when I plug it in -- though it does charge the battery just fine, as far as I can tell. I'm not sure what in the phone makes it think that this cable isn't supported, but something must be amiss somewhere.

It charges, yes, but while it does it mutes the sound of the iPod Touch 3rd Gen.! Why??
No applications I tried will play any sound - volume level unavailable errors - while this item is charging a Touch. Interestingly, the alarm will still sound while the cable is connected.
Probably with another cable this unit can charge and not mute the sound like it does now. But what's the point of muting the sound in the first place? I don't get it.
Avoid this item unless you will never need to listen to your Touch while charging it with this.
