 Mediocre case with a fatal flaw. Dec 01, 2009

I purchased this case for my iPod Nano 5G when it was on sale for 99 cents + shipping based on the good reviews here. I wish I could have my 4 dollars back. This is not a 'premium' case, it's made of stiff faux leather. The iPod slides in painfully although there is a plastic cover for the screen (none for the clickwheel though).
The biggest problem with this case is that the bottom has a strap blocking the place where you plug in the cord to connect the iPod to your computer. This means that every time you want to charge your iPod or put music on it, you have to force it out of the tiny case. I can't emphasize what a pain this is; the case is so stiff and small that removing and replacing the iPod is both irritating and could probably scratch the screen.
I went back to using the clear plastic case I got as a gift. It's not the ideal case but it's definitely better than this piece of junk.

I was hesitant based on the price and the recent availability of the 5g, but this item is in fact the correct size/layout for nano 5g. Very inexpensive (~6 dollars shipped) and a better match for what I wanted (simple clip) then the more elaborate accessories currently available at about 4x the price.

Received this a few days ago, and no complaints. Inexpensive. Surprisingly stylish faux-leather design; looks better in life than in the photo. Sturdy belt clip that should last indefinitely. Works well for running & gym.

This is easily one of the poor fitting cases for a nano. Straight out of the box, it is so tight that you will want to throw it right away, let alone trying to slide in your shiny new nano in it! However, i tried to apply pressure on the sides of the case so that the slot is wide enough to slide the player in. After 'traumatizing' it for 5 mins, the slot was finally wide enough for the player to slide in. So if you got this by mistake, then try doin what it did, atleast it will be useable until you can get a new case. Lets face it, price is the reason i got this case (apart from the belt clip) , but a decent case is gonna set you back by atleast [...] bucks!

Its build is superior and has a belt clip too, apart from the armband! So dont waste your money on this leather case, although it looks tough, you will not want to use it for your Nano 5G!

The Good: It fits like a glove so it doesn't fall out of the case if you turn the ipod upside down. The belt clip is well made and it also does the job of protecting the ipod from scratches and dents.
The Bad: You have to take the ipod out of the case to charge it. The case is not a perfect fit - The round open hole for the click wheel should be cut a little higher at the top (As it is, the Menu button is ever so slightly blocked by the case).And lastly, even though there's a hole for the video camera, when the ipod is in the case the sound is so muffled you can barely hear anything when playing it back. I have now resorted to taking the ipod out of the case when I want to take a video.
Bottom Line: It does its job for now of protecting my ipod and the belt clip is perfect for exercising. Is it a perfect case? No. But it serves its purpose.
