| | Description | Get ready to experience an exciting new level of sound, style and comfort with Exceed earphones. Run, bike, workout, board or just relax to your favorite tunes with the confidence your earphones will remain in place. AURIA's XFit system is designed to solve the number one complaint about earphones – that they fall out too easily. XFit is based on the use of ultra-soft, ergonomically-shaped LOBES that gently conform to the flexible portions of outer ears – the tragus and anti-tragus. ECO rings are part of the XFit system and are designed to individualize the fit by positioning the speakers properly to maximum comfort and audio performance. Custom-engineered speakers to produce premium-level audio. Hand-selected speaker components deliver deeper bass, richer vocals and sweeter highs. Breathy vocals, rousing guitar riffs and heart-thumping bass come to life. Our design team researched and tested every aspect of the earphones to make sure that they perform in a wide variety of sporting and active-lifestyle activities such as running, skiing, hiking or merely commuting to a school or job. The sleek Inline Control & Microphone requires only a finger touch to adjust volume. A textured Function button enables control of Music and Video (Advance track, Restart track, and Go back one track) plus Pause and Answer/End call for the iPhone 3GS/3G and other mobile phones. The integrated Microphone can be used for hands-free calls and Voice Control when connected to iPhone 3GS/3G, Blackberry and other mobile phones. Select Personalizers to reflect your personal style, team affiliation, college or fashion. Personalizers swap out in seconds and change the exterior appearance of your earphones. An extremely soft mesh carrying case is designed to hold your earphones, accessories and most smartphones or MP3 players, including the iPhone 3G/3GS with slim case. | |

Great earphones for runners and cyclists Dec 26, 2010
By David X. He I love listening to music when I run, bike, and I'm especially picky about how my music sounds. I've always purchased earphones in the $75-100 range because they are the only kind that I find acceptable. Unfortunately, every one of these have been the sound-isolating type. This means that when I'm running/biking while listening to music, I'm pretty much deaf.
I was blown away when I discovered the Exceed earphones because suddenly I can hear both the environment AND my music at the same time. Amazingly, the audio quality is still as good as my expensive headphones and I feel safer when I'm exercising outdoors because I'm more aware of my surroundings.
Pros: They stay in place well, and are very comfortable in extended periods. For the people who wrote in the reviews that they don't fit, or are too big, I think you may not be wearing it the right way. The earphones comes with 3 sets of different sized rubber adapters, so there should be a size that fits everyone. There is also a special way for putting these earphones that may not be obvious at first. You start out by horizontally positioning the earphone in your ear, and once in place, twist it 90 degrees clockwise until it rests vertically.
The knob lets my adjust volume, pause/play track, and skips track all in one easy place.
Cons: The volume control is very difficult to adjust when wearing gloves, and the ear phone will easily carry static electricity from your clothes to your ear if you generate static electricity while putting on/removing clothing.
I love these earphones very much and I recommend them to everyone who listens to music while participating in outdoor activities.

Earbuds for people who normally hate earbuds Oct 06, 2011
By Stacie Nicole Yates Normally, I hate earbuds. They manage to be small enough to pop out of your ears every twenty feet if you attempt to go jogging with them or so huge that they're painful, your ears are sore and you're feeling slightly deafened within twenty minutes. Astoundingly, both of these feats can somehow be managed by the *same pair* of earbuds, often at the same time. You can shove them painfully deep into your ear canal and still have them go flying every few minutes. If this were Discworld, I would swear it's due to quantum. I hated earbuds so much I consistently ran with full on headphones instead. For years. I admit I was skeptical about just how good and comfortable these earphones could be, but so many runner blogs gave them rave reviews that I figured they were worth a try.
The Exceeds are earbuds for people who hate earbuds, since they actually rest in the "notch" of your outer ear, held in place by the cartilage of tragus, and don't completely block your ear canal. The sound quality is lovely, you don't have to blast your music to hear it, you can customize the fit by changing the "ECO" rings, and once you find the right fit, those buds aren't budging. I've actually had my phone fly out of the case while running and it came unplugged while the earbuds remained firmly in place. You can wear them comfortably for hours, the handy volume controls, microphone and function button work a treat for both listening to audio and phone calls. If you're a walker, runner or biker, you will also appreciate the fact that you can hear ambient noise while listening to your music, audiobooks or podcasts. It's nice to hear the birdsong and wind and your own cadence, but it's even more valuable to be aware of the traffic, dogs or other walkers/runners/bikers that may be coming up behind. You can also choose to buy extra personalizers that easily pop on and off or replacement ECO rings. No need to order an entirely new pair just because you lose or break the ring that gave you the best fit. They seem to be surprisingly sturdy and have held up very well with 5 days of running per week for a couple of months, now, and fairly heavy use while sitting at the desk or in the car. I'm currently using mine with an iPhone 3G.
My lone beef is with the listing here at Amazon, rather than the product. The listing incorrectly states that you get two sets of personalizers with the earphones. The actual contents of the box are:
Exceed earphones with 1 pair stylized Personalizers and Small-sized ECO rings
One (1) luxury carrying case, ultra-soft mesh fiber
Four sets of ECO rings: Standard, Small-Conical, Medium, and Large

Exactly What I Needed For Running Outdoors Aug 15, 2011
By Michael Costa I was tired of pushing my earbuds back into my ears while jogging outside, especially in hot and humid weather. I needed a pair of buds that didn't fall out, were sweatproof, and allowed me to control the volume and songs on my phone via a remote on the cord. Basically, I wanted the ability to do everything on the fly without looking.
I also didn't want to spend $60-$70 on a pair of sport headphones that I'm going to beat up. Whatever extra audio quality there is at that price level wasn't worth it to me. I own high-end Sennheiser, Klipsch, AKG, and Sony headphones for home and travel, so I'm aware of the difference.
These Auria Exceed buds were in my price range and had the features I needed, so I picked them up. So far, they have not fallen out of my ears once, the remote works flawlessly with my Android phone, and, most surprising, the audio quality is actually quite good. Another great feature is the way outside noise is funneled into the ears--not so much that it competes with the music, but enough for me to hear my surroundings. These aren't noise cancelling phones, so I wouldn't recommend using them on a plane or somewhere that you want audio isolation.
Overall, these are a bargain at $30, especially if you're active outdoors. Be sure to follow the directions for inserting them into the ear canal properly, and choosing the right size rubber ECO rings. It's a bit different than traditional earbuds.

They actually fit!!!!!! Jul 26, 2010
By jay My mom bought these for me. I was a little skeptical, earphones always fall out when I'm mountain biking, but these don't. And, better yet, I can still hear my friends when I have them in. This makes my mom happy 'cuz she's always tells me to take them out when I ride (you know, moms always worry)
Great for runners Apr 11, 2012
By riceops I have been using the iPod ear buds forever. They work and don't hurt my ears but they don't do so well with sweat and the speakers come loose inside the bud. I was looking for a more resilient ear bud that fit well and wasn't too big. The Exceed ear buds work perfectly. The fit is snug but not noticeable. You must put them in with the wires facing forward and then twist them so the wires are pointing down so they secure properly. On a 10 mile run I had no problem with them at all. The sound is great and capable of volumes much louder than I care to listen to. The inline volume worked great even on my Android Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G.
I would definitely recommend these head phones to anyone who is active and needs a comfortable ear bud that sits securely without having to be pushed into your ear to stay in place.
