This product does not play video for and ipod touch or an iphone because it does not have a authenticity chip in the connector. If you want to play video you HAVE to buy the apple cord. There is no way around it.

This cable is advertised to work only with the latest generation iPod products. Wrong! The connector does not even fit my iPod Touch 4th generation.

I purchased this cable hoping it would work and after initally thinking it wouldn't, figured out the problem...you have to get your TV on the right AV channel. I can play any movie I rent, bought, or home movie I've transferred to my ipod on my new TV, my very old TV with doesn't have the red, yellow, white ports (I just run it through my ports on the VCR). I've even taken it to watch movies on the TV on our last cruise while we were killing time before the ship restaurants, bars and activites. The only drawback is that I've noticed that the picture isn't totally compatible. The edges are cut off a bit, but it still works.
