By hirshkis This item was really not worth the time and money. It works, but there's a lot of static and is pretty worthless to me. It was delivered quickly.

By Preston Pulley Plug it in to your phone, set the station on your radio to match the transmitter....your're up and running. No iPhone app is needed, no power buttons necessary, and no software or updates to sync. This transmitter could not be easier to use and works great! The sound is clear and strong, allowing your radio to control the treble, bass, and volume as normal. The station is adjusted by clicking the + or - button on the transmitter, which lights up when you push either button. The lighted background of the transmitter station allows adjustment of the station when there is low or no light, which is nice when traveling at night. There is no need to bother with an on/off switch which is great when you are in/out of your car a lot. The device charges both the transmitter and my iPhone 4 at the same time, which is outstanding as many generic car chargers don't even charge the iPhone (those who have had Apple products for a while know that they don't always play nice with 3rd party accessories.) This morning I left for work with 96% battery, used the transmitter to play music the entire drive, and after only a 12 min drive using this transmitter my phone was charged to 98%. The cable can be unplugged from the transmitter allowing mobile use with virtually any FM radio anywhere. The volume adjustment on your iPhone is disabled when the transmitter is plugged in, so the radio volume is used for adjusting volume. If you receive a phone call during the use of the transmitter, the music is automatically paused like normal but you don't hear the ringer over the speakers of your radio. This does not transmit your voice calls over the radio speakers, so don't plan on using it to amplify your phone calls. Also when the transmitter is unplugged from the iPhone the music automatically pauses. The volume on the receiving radio needs to be turned up slightly higher than normal when using the transmitter, so I typically turn the volume down before switching stations to avoid a blow-out. I'm not sure if the transmitter pulls power from the phone or carries its own charge, but either way it works with no wires. The transmitter does not turn on unless plugged into the phone, and shuts off when unplugged. Another reviewer stated this device had some static, which is the result of the radio waves interfering with the receiving radio, not the transmitter. The receiving radio must be tuned to a station with no other radio traffic whatsoever (the more white noise, the better). This is true for any FM transmitter and I've owned several. Finding one of these stations in a dense city can take some time, but once you find that station just program the station as a favorite on your receiving radio and the next time you need to use the transmitter, there's no searching involved. When the transmitter is unplugged from the phone, it does not send a signal so the radio station will turn back to white noise immediately; so before leaving my car I avoid the static noise by simply turning off my radio before unplugging the transmitter from my phone. I would recommend this device to anyone.
