| | Description | iClear Shade gives the world a peek at your iPod nano, then fades to black. It's an iClear, so you know it protects your iPod with a durable polycarbonate shell. But we've added a graduated tint that fades from clear to dark gray. It's called an ombre finish (say AHM-bruh; it's French for shadow) and the look is making its mark everywhere from custom auto finishes to haute couture. It's a hot look that complements the color of any 5th generation iPod nano, as it protects. With iClear Shade, your iPod nano makes a dramatic statement without saying a word. | |

A nice basic case for the iPod Nano 5th Gen Oct 11, 2009
By M. Citron This is a clam-shell type case for the Nano 5th gen that is well constructed, and clicks together solidly. The top and bottom edges of the Nano however are completely exposed, as is the circular control area. The screen is completely protected by this case.
The case is slim and looks nice. You can get versions with patterns printed on the case (such as the "shade" which adds a fade to black graphic on the bottom 1/4 of the case in a pattern I find very pleasing).
The case provides very good protection and very little bulk or weight. The only issue I can see is that the screen area can be scratched over time (perhaps it needs a removable "screen protector" for the case)? I do not have any scratches on my (new) unit but I would venture to say it will be inevitable.
All in all I am quite pleased with this case....

Top-notch Case Jul 10, 2011
By Cary Dunlap I've had several iPods and protective cases. This is the best-fitting, most protective case I've come across, at least for the Nano G5. Fit and finish is superior. I don't have a feeling either way about the graphic fade that's printed on the case, but it's better than some of the other designs I've seen, most of which are distracting and garish. The best attributes of this case are its fit and protection. The iPod screen is completely covered/protected by this model, unlike other versions I've seen of a similar design. Only the click-wheel is left exposed, and that's a good thing.
Highly recommended for your Nano fifth generation.

Fade to Black-ish Jan 25, 2010
By Blue Team Great case so far. However, I would have paid a few bucks less is I would have known that it fades to black-ish. There is actually a slight purple color to the fade, but it is not a major issue to me really.
The case fits the ipod nano quite snugly and I do not notice any stress in the plastic. Comparing to previous reviews, the ipod is not actually "completely exposed" at the top and bottom. There is a lip at the corners to keep the ipod from slipping out, but there is still full access to all features. Even non-ipod headphones attach with no issue. I have not tried to connect it to a docking station yet, however.
After some mild fumbling, the case clips together great and, if I had to, would but another for sure.

Awesome May 24, 2011
By Anne Hsu I spent a lot of time looking for something no to flowery or flashy and something that was protective enough that I wouldn't have to buy a screen protector. This case is great. It looks nice, shows off the iPod's original color and adds shade to it for a cool effect, and it is really well-fitted. Would definitely recommend.

Very Nice Case Apr 06, 2010
By SK Very nice case which fits perfectly. Shading gives it a cool look. I would buy this case again when this one gets scratched up. If you are using the docking insert which came with the Nano, you will need to remove the case before using the dock. Being a new iPod owner, it never occurred to me until I tried it. Something to keep in mind with cases in general.
