In the past I was drawn toward the silicone "always on" covers that you see everywhere, but this little sleeve has shown me the light. This is so much better, because I can keep the iPod in my pocket right next to my keys without fear of scratches on the screen, and without the silicone grabbing against my pocket. The negative comment about the "cardboard" material is not far off, but it's actually some kind of thin leather. Regardless, it seems plenty sturdy with good stitching. And for the record, I have no problems with it accidentally falling out of the case (just don't hold it upside down eh?). It's actually kinda nice that I don't have to fight to remove it.
The best features are the low profile and the outer material. It takes up almost zero space, and the felt outer material means you don't have to fight to pull it out of your pocket.
One nice quirk about the case is the little notch cut out near the opening. After playing music with the case on I realized it leaves the play/pause exposed, and also allows you to adjust the volume without removing it from the case. Perfect! I'm not sure it's intentional, but I like it.

If you're looking for a slip cover type of case, look no further. iPod fits snugly in the case, you can press the buttons without taking it out, and it looks and feels great too.

I've used this sleeve for a about a month, for my 5th generation iPod Nano, which are the same size as the 4th generation Nano. The iPod does slip out when the open end points down so I'm careful to keep it upright. I only use it to protect the iPod while it's in my pocket and it works great for that because it doesn't add bulk. I put the iPod in bottom-end first to protect the dock connector and earphone jack. I like checking the time (in title), while leaving the iPod in the sleeve, by toggling the hold switch. The interior feels like very soft leather and the outside is coarse felt, which helps it stay in place in a pocket or on a tabletop.

I travel with my iPod Nano and like to be able toss it in my handbag, backpack, or pocket. This sleeve keeps my Nano looking like new. I can always find the orange felt sleeve in my jam-packed handbag.
