 Love your ipod and protect your ears Aug 19, 2011

I was first attracted to these ear buds because they are the type with a solid back. That was a priority for me because I want to protect my hearing. Yeah,that's right,I hope to be listening to hip hop when I'm too old to either hip or hop. I wouldn't recommend solid back ear buds if you're going to be walking in traffic or if you need to be alert to sounds around you for safety reasons. But if you're mowing the lawn or just want to remove yourself from the rest of the world for a bit these are great. You see the solid back blocks out ambient noise levels so there is no need for extreme volume. This saves your tiny little ear bones.
Second,and this is just a bonus,these colorful little marshmallows sound fantastic. I use Mackie studio monitors to mix multi track recordings in my home studio. That is,unless the family is too loud or sleeping. In that case I use my little Marshmallows. I have not ever needed to adjust the eq or turn on the bass boost on my ipod. The frequency response is excellent.
The first generation of Marshmallows had a tendency to slip out of my ears when I began to perspire. But the engineers at JVC have added nice little bumps that both,lock the buds into your ears,and make it easy to differentiate the left from the right in low light.
I highly recommend these.

For the money these are the best. I got these on amazon for 8 dollars less than in the stores. I feel they are as good if not better than the real expensive ones.

These are really comfy. I have fairly small ears myself and they fit pretty snug but good. I can listen for long periods of time and feel pretty relaxed. I also listen to a meditation before bed, sometimes plugging in my headphones and falling asleep with them in. These remain comfortable. My last pair lasted about 4 or 5 years of pretty steady use. But alas they have begun to crack along the padding and need to be replaced. SO, after trying a pair of earbuds from the store, I am back to get another pair of JVC earbuds.

Thes little headphones are excellent, especially for the price! Once you put them deep in your ear like a foam earplug, they come to life and block out a huge amount of ambient sound. After about 10 hours of playing music through them, they have broken in and sound really good for for any headphone especially at this price point. I use these while mowing and running the weed eater and other loud yard equipment and they work much better than my $100 Sony active noise-canceling headphones. They are pretty comfortable even after wearing for hours at a time. I would suggest spending the extra to get the version with the volume control in-line because it is a pain to remove and reinsert them if someone talks to you while listening to music. Overall best bang for the buck ever on a pair of headphones for me. If your hesitating on purchasing, don't. They are a great buy.

gotthem 3 my wife who has tiny ears (very tiny) i could see evn before we opened the pkg (and i bought 2) they were not going 2 work. they even looked 2 big 2 mold into my ear! we settled 4
