Installation can be easy Oct 06, 2009
By Invino You don't need to solder any wire, it's not worth the hassle unless you already have a fine tip soldering iron.
1) Cut the wire of the original battery and leave the solder in place. 2) Connect the wires of the new battery to the old wire 3) Insulate the wires from touching each other with a piece of clear box tape 4) Straighten the bended metal clips in the inside of the back casing 5) Lay the wires flat on the motherboard and close the case

Ipod 1st gen replacement battery Nov 29, 2009
By C. Roemer The quick review is it works, and it definitely improves the life of the ipod. Installing the battery wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. There are essentially two ways of installing; you can splice into the wires that are already soldered to the ipod, or solder the wires from the new battery itself. I went for the second option. I figured it would be clean and simple. The wires on the new battery were just a tad too short to allow them to be soldered, and then for the battery to be pressed back into the spot designed for it. I tried to "stretch" them a little, but no luck, so I had to cut extensions off of the original battery's wires and solder them to the new battery; just to gain that extra distance. Not too happy about that, but everything seems to be working. The body of the ipod didn't go back together very well; there are some issues with the lock button not working unless I press that part of the nano together while moving it. The plastic tools are definitely one use as they didn't last very long. In the end, it works, and with a cover on, the gaps in the body don't show.

Before you buy: Apr 27, 2009
By Chavarria Excellent if you have the means and guts to do it yourself.
Before you buy:
You'll need an iron soldering with a very very sharp, thin head You'll need solder You'll need a magnifing glass You'll need some skill
If you do have all this things or are accesible to you, then you can do it yourself (search youtube, how to replace an ipod nano battery, everything you need to know, and how to do it, is there)
Since i dont have all this, i took the battery to an electronic repair shop and they changed the battery in 20 minutes (its a very meticulous job). After this, my ipod came back to life again. Notice that i had to take the ipod + battery to 4 or 5 repair shops before i found one that could get the job done, some wouldn't do it because they were afraid to mess my ipod up, some because they didn't have the right tools.

Excellent buy to revive your old iPod Nano Mar 02, 2009
By Jared Dilg My first generation iPod Nano was over three years old when I bought this battery. Now I can listen to the iPod all day instead of under two hours with the worn-out original battery.
Another reviewer gave a low rating because of the difficulty of soldering. That's not a fair review of the product because there's no other way to replace the battery in the Nano. You can get a soldering pencil for under ten bucks and it will include the necessary solder. After removing the old battery with the soldering pencil, just make sure the holes for the wiring are clear. Insert all three leads of the new battery and tape the back side with office tape to keep everything in place. Now you can solder all three pads with ease. Clip off any protruding bare wire with nail clippers.
