Installation Lessons Learned Mar 12, 2011

First, the IOPLAY is everything it is advertised to be, a reliable bluetooth speaker phone that wirelessly plays music from my iPhone, handles voice dial, and even sounds good. The lesson I learned was that installing it is a serious endeavor if you haven't ever installed a car stereo and is extremely time consuming if you didn't buy the car-specific wiring harness adaptor. IMHO you are STRONGLY advised to purchase the $30 adaptor for your car so that once you do pull out the stereo system from the dash, you can really just plug and play the IOPLAY rather than do what I did. . . cut the harness and spend hours searching the net for a wiring schematic for my stereo, then many more hours soldering/crimping each of 30 connections. In the end, I learned more than I ever wanted to about car stereo wiring systems, but the final product is a very professional looking and performing bluetooth speaker phone and mp3 player.
