I've tried many different earbuds in the lower end range, and these Yamahas have been the best quality for value that I've bought. The offset head is a great design which lets the bud fit into your ear better so they don't fall out and make for a better seal so you get better sound quality.
Sound is at least half subjective, but in my opinion, these produce better, richer, and more balanced sound than any Sennheiser, Shure, Sony, Phillips, etc. earbuds you could get for the same price (or double the price for that matter). Rare for an earbud, these Yamahas produce audible lows that aren't drowned out by the highs.
The cord is an ample 4' with an angled plug. The Yamaha EPH-30 has a straight plug, if that's more to your liking.

When purchasing the earbuds, price was the biggest factor for me, as it is for most people. For their price range these earbuds are very, very good. The first thing I noticed when listening to songs with more bass was that the bass is great on the 'buds. Much better than some previous sony's that I have owned which touted their bass specifically.
These earbuds are also very good at staying in my ears and isolating the noise. Obviously this depends on the person, but for me these worked well out of the box, staying with the medium earbud size.
All in all, some may find these earbuds treble heavy and bass heavy, but for the price they easily beat headphones twice their price (skullcandy, sony).

Pros:
- Average - Good sound quality.

Cons:
- the wire is short (fine for a portable mp3 player in your pocket, but not if the mp3 player is in the passenger seat or you are connected to a PC that is under your desk)
- seems that they could be made better

Perfect for jogging/running Feb 19, 2011

If your ear buds/headphones tend to slip out of your ear canal while jogging or running, these will end your frustration. They appear to be crooked or broken, but fear not! They are specifically shaped to mirror the angle of your ear canal (with a label of R and L, on the back of each bud), and they stay PUT. So much so, that they also act as a mild noise reducer. :) The cord is a bit flimsy and thin, but that's not the point of these - and as long as they don't rip (which I can't see happening under usual circumstances), all should be well. Sound is crisp and can be comparable to the ear buds that may come with your mp3 device. I ordered these while they were featured on Amazon's daily deals, therefore the price was definitely right - and worth the product. It took longer than I expected to actually ship, but once shipped, delivery was prompt.

i had a set of philips surround sound which were amazing but when i lost the rubber ear piece i found that i could not get a replacement, i did not want to shell out another $30 or $40 so i ordered thse after reading the reviews and i have to admit i am impressed, i always have trouble finind ear buds that fit into my small ears but these are amazing with very good sound, i watched resident evil on my zune and was very please with the quality and the price..the philips did sound even better but they always fell out of my ear and if its not in your ear how great can the sound be..these are well worth the price and i will likely be ordering a 2nd pair as a backup.
