Great backup battery May 04, 2010
By RM I have purchased 2 of these for the household. One was over a year ago and it is still going strong. We really love this product. It is compact, has a cover so it won't turn on accidentally, and is easily charged. We use them on our iphone 3g's with absolutely no problems. It really holds true to its claims-- the longest use I got out of this battery was during a camping trip. We didn't have a car charger, and I was draining my iphone battery with a navigator program and other battery hungry apps. I plugged this in and was able to continue using the phone while charging it (on a 3.5hr trip). The backup battery lasted 3 more days, with more juice for recharges during the trip. So far, we haven't been disappointed by this product.

Absolutely does not work with the 3GS Apr 04, 2010

I purchased one about a month ago. I plugged it into the 3GS and it did not work. The iphone 3GS read that it was incompatible. I check with customer service and was told to try a couple of things. Still did not work. It was replaced and the exact same thing happened with the 2nd one. Perhaps it works with the 3G, but I can say unequivocally that it does NOT work with the iphone 3GS.
useful backup Feb 17, 2010
By te So far I'm glad I bought this product. I keep it in my bag for emergency battery power. I've only used it a few times and for short useage times after charging it just once. I have only charged it once with the computer USB cord. For me it has been a good purchase.
A good backup charger, if you're careful with it Feb 01, 2010
By John Boyle iPWR keeps its charge well, about a charge and a half as advertised. It is easy to carry around in a coat or jeans pocket if you know you're going to need it. It has gotten me out of several jams in an emergency. Easy to charge, easy to use. The green light is very very bright, you may want to cover it or put tape over it when charging the phone near your computer because it can be distractingly bright in your peripheral vision. My unit went defective after 8 and a half months, but iPWR sent me another one free of charge within a week. Overall, this is an attractive device, and is reliable if you treat it well. By this I mean be careful not to drop it when connected with your iPhone, and the 30 pin connector will probably not take much unintended bending or stress before causing some sort of damage to the iPWR device or your iPhone. If you always lay it and the iPhone on a flat surface, then you should be fine. According to my research this is the best portable charger solution in its class for the iPhone. I'm hoping my replacement lasts more than 9 months, and if it doesn't then I will likely move up to one of the iPhone case chargers.

I bought two of these on a whim for long flights to keep my iPhone 3G entertaining me without running out of power. After getting them, I charged them fully. Then I let my iPhone run all the way down to about 5% power. I plugged one of these in and let it charge the phone. In less than 3 hours my phone was showing 99% charge. The light on the iPWR was still green so I shut it off. I then ran the phone down to about 40% power and plugged the same iPWR back in figuring there couldn't be much juice left in it. I wanted to see how much I could get out of each one and was pleasantly surprised when it charged my phone back to 99% before it appeared to die. So it looks like at least 1 1/2 charges at least which was way above my expectations. All I can say is that I am very pleased with these for the price and the amount of juice they provide
